Pins with Circumferential Grooves
Custom short pins with circumferential grooves, made to your drawing. Specify pin geometry, groove positions and mating requirements rather than ordering by the appearance of a sample photograph.
- Pin geometry to drawing
- Groove and end details reviewed together
- Mating fit specified by the buyer

The grooved pin example
The photograph shows short cylindrical pins with visible circumferential grooves. These illustrate custom pin work, with the finished geometry defined by a customer drawing. The image does not assign a standard pin designation or establish how the part fits into your assembly. Tell us which features matter to your mating arrangement so we can review the complete requirement.
Put the fit requirement on the drawing
Specify the pin diameter and length, and describe the mating hole or component where it affects the order. Identify which dimensions control the fit. Do not select a clearance or interference requirement solely from a product photograph. If the mating details are still under review, mark that point clearly and include the available information with your enquiry.
Describe grooves and end geometry separately
Show the width and depth or root diameter of each groove, its location, and the relevant reference. Include the end shape and edge requirements. Material grade, condition and any heat or surface treatment must also be stated. We inspect pins against the agreed drawing and inspection plan; no material, hardness or tolerance is inferred from the pictured surface appearance.
Send a complete pin enquiry
Provide the drawing revision, quantities and required date, together with any inspection records you need. Our guide to custom pins, bushings and mating fit explains the information to define, and the RFQ checklist covers quotation inputs. Explore the precision pin family or request a quote.

Questions
Are these a standard grooved-pin size?
The photograph is a custom manufacturing example with no standard SKU. Specify your dimensions and fit requirements so the part can be reviewed against the intended assembly.
Do the grooves determine the pin's retention method?
The photograph does not establish a retention method. Provide the mating component and its requirements, including any specified groove function, for the drawing review.
